Hire Learning Program

Nursing students, who have graduated from nursing school within the last six-months, are eligible to apply for the Atlantic Health Hire Learning Program. This program is a one-year on-the-job training program created to build a solid foundation for a nursing career.

The Hire Learning Program consists of: a comprehensive orientation, training from Atlantic Health medical experts on continuum of care and working with experienced registered nurses and nurse educators, who precept and mentor you throughout your first year of employment.

Our "full circle" training approach gives you the unique opportunity to gain in-depth understanding of comprehensive health care delivery in an area of expertise. For example, if you were hired in the emergency department (ED), you would have the opportunity to shadow experienced nurses in the mobile intensive care unit (MICU), intensive care unit (ICU) and trauma operating rooms.

The Hire Learning Program employs first year nurses in specialty areas such as:

• Neuroscience
• Oncology
• Operating room
• Orthopedics
• Pediatrics
• Rehabilitation and subacute
• Surgical step down
• Telemetry and cardiac
