Our board-certified anesthesiologists, obstetricians, neonatologists, maternal-fetal specialists and nurse practitioners are on site 24 hours a day – no wonder that more births go smoothly and more babies are born healthy at our hospitals.

At both Morristown Memorial Hospital and Overlook Hospital, we offer:

• Parent education classes on all aspects of child care
• Private and comfortable labor rooms
• Lactation consultants to help you and your baby adjust to breastfeeding
• Complimentary massage

What’s more, at our hospitals, we offer you tremendous flexibility in choosing how your baby will be delivered because we can accommodate a wide variety of medically responsible birthing plans, and labor and delivery techniques. Options include birthing ball, epidural, hydrotherapy, doula support and aromatherapy.

Once your baby is born, you and your child will be moved to one of our mother-baby rooms. Your baby can stay with you at all times, or be cared for in our central nursery while you rest.

Women with high-risk pregnancies are referred to Atlantic Health’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine Center for evaluation and treatment. Morristown Memorial is a Level III Regional Perinatal Center and Overlook Hospital is a Level III Intensive Perinatal Center.  If complications should occur during labor or delivery, each of our labor and delivery rooms is equipped for emergency situations and our highly qualified staff is trained to respond.  Both hospitals also have Neonatal Intensive Care Units to provide advanced care to our smallest patients.
