Patients who may benefit from these therapies are those with neurological disorders such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and head injury; chronic hearing problems; cancers involving the head, neck, and digestive tract; and cranial-facial disorders, such as cleft palate. Common problems evaluated and treated by speech-language pathologists include: articulation, language and voice disorders, aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech, and laryngectomy rehabilitation. |
