Research Opportunities
Members of the Office of Grants and Research of Atlantic Health are increasingly contacted by pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, and Contract Research Organizations (CROs) about new clinical research trials. Please contact us with your specific clinical research interests to add to our database. When we are contacted, we forward the appropriate information to potentially interested researchers and then offer whatever assistance we can for legal, financial and contractual issues related to the new trial. Atlantic Health is also a participating member of the National Cancer Institute Central Institutional Review Board (CIRB) initiative. The CIRB’s primary function is initial and continuing review of protocols and the local institutions’ primary function is consideration of local context and oversight of local performance for these protocols. Local investigators who wish to enroll patients onto CIRB-approved protocols are encouraged to use this service. They should contact the Manager of Oncology Research for further information. However, the Atlantic Health IRB must first review each protocol on an individual, expedited basis to confirm that CIRB oversight is appropriate. |
