About the Faculty

There are approximately 70 full-time pediatric faculty representing 18 different pediatric medical subspecialties at the Goryeb Children’s Hospital. In addition, there are approximately 20 pediatric surgical faculties which span the major pediatric surgical subspecialties. A large child life program, advance practice nurses, social workers and ancillary staff complete the team.

Our dynamic academic teaching faculty represent major teaching institutions across the country and there is an abundance of ongoing clinical research and publications. This past year, the department produced more than 55 publications, including articles, books, chapters and monographs. The faculty is very approachable and involved in resident education.

The subspecialty faculty is responsible for several unique programs. The Goryeb Children’s Hospital is home to the successful and pioneering website www.TeenHealthFX.com. This highly regarded website has helped over 2-million teens with their health issues and questions. During your Adolescent Medicine rotation, you will be called upon to research and answer some of their many intriguing questions.

We are also home to the nationally recognized, award-winning American Diabetes Association patient educational program, www.ThinklikeaPancreas.com. This clever, humorous educational website is geared towards children and adolescents with diabetes. Our Gastroenterology division boasts the only motility lab in the tri-state region.

An additional unique program is with the Atlantic Mind Body Center, focusing on relaxation techniques such as guided imagery, as an integral part of therapy for inflammatory bowel disease.
