Comprehensive Care Team

Nurse Educators

Nurse educators assure continuity of care by providing ongoing assistance to patients and their families. They act as patient advocates, maximizing the quality of care through educational programs and prompt response to parental concerns. Nurse educators’ services include:

  • Providing education and counseling to patients and their families
  • Guiding patients and their families through the entire diagnosis and treatment process
  • Arranging disease specific education programs for families to help with the education in the care of their child’s problem

Social Work Services

Chronic respiratory illness in a child is a significant challenge to the family. To fulfill this critical need, our social worker helps equip parents, siblings and patients to handle the physical emotional and financial stresses of living with a chronic illness. Social work services include:

  • Organizing support and education groups
  • Providing referrals to community-based services
  • Individualized counseling

Nutrition Support

The nutritionist plays an important role in the education and well-being of our patients that require specialized nutritional input. Nutritionists:

  • Educate and counsel patient and families on good nutrition for the growth and development of the child
  • Formulate plans in conjunction with the child’s medical treatment to address specific needs
