Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute: Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation UnitThe Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit is for patients who require intensive multidisciplinary therapy for a minimum of three hours every day.  All of our hospitals refer patients to the Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute in Morristown for this level of therapy.  Evaluation and treatment begin on the same day of admission. 

Our comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation program is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, and has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for its Adult Inpatient Rehabilitation Program, an accrediting body that promotes quality, value and optimal outcomes. 

In 2007, our Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit was one of the first facilities in New Jersey to be awarded the CARF Stroke Specialty Certification.

Conditions and injuries requiring comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation may include:

  • Major multiple trauma
  • Neurological disorders
    • Brain injury
    • Guillain-Barre Syndrome
    • Multiple Sclerosis
    • Parkinson’s Disease
    • Lyme Disease
    • Other neurological disorders
  • Amputation
  • Orthopedic
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Wound care
  • Polyarthritis
  • Hip Fractures
