Overlook Hospital Inpatient Neuroscience Unit and Neuro-Intensive Care

Overlook Hospital has a designated 29-bed unit for neuroscience patients, as well as a 10-bed Neuroscience Critical Care Unit – a part of Atlantic Neuroscience Institute. Patients in these units are typically recovering from stroke, brain surgery, seizures, nervous system infections, head trauma and spinal surgery.

Specially-trained neurologists, neurosurgeons and nurses use state-of-the-art neurodiagnostic tools to diagnose and monitor our patients’ progress, providing round-the-clock intensive care for patients.

Neuroscience Nursing Care

Our nurses are certified in neuroscience nursing care and attend extensive ongoing training and re-certification programs. This neuroscience unit is consistently ranked in the 95th percentile for patient satisfaction and our nurses are rated by our patients as exceptional.
