Volunteer Positions at the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center:
Front Desk
Personally greet patients, family and visitors as they enter the Cancer Center. Provide assistance, directions, and information with a reassuring smile.
Information Center
Assist patients and their families in obtaining information about different treatments, web sites, and support organizations.
Insurance Navigation Assistance Program
Offer patients and their families assistance in obtaining resources and information necessary to deal with outstanding medical bills and insurance issues that can be overwhelming.
Patient Caregiver Services
Work in the oncology areas visiting with/or assisting patients, families and caregivers while waiting and during treatments.
Radiation Oncology
Escort patients from the radiation waiting room to their appointment area and assist the radiology oncology department as needed.
"Music in the Atrium" Program
A warm, welcoming environment in the Cancer Center lobby on Wednesdays providing visitors with refreshments, music and emotional support.
Adult Oncology Unit
Visit with patients on the Inpatient Oncology floor in Morristown Memorial Hospital. Assist in providing care, comfort, and support to very ill patients.
Carol W. and Julius A. Rippel Breast Center
Assist with welcoming and orienting patients to the Breast Center for their mammography and diagnostic tests.
Peter Doherty Men's Cancer Center
Welcome patients to the new Men's Cancer or assist staff where needed.
