School of Medical Laboratory Science
Atlantic Health System's School of Medical Laboratory Science has educated clinical laboratory technologists for more than half a century. Accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS), our 11-month program incorporates didactic sessions and clinical rotations in laboratories at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ and Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ. Most of our classroom instructors also teach in the laboratories, providing a continuity of instruction that enhances the education experience.
Atlantic Health System Laboratories
The laboratories at Morristown and Overlook medical centers are dedicated to delivering accurate, timely, value-driven diagnostic information and services. Our staff strives to anticipate, pursue and implement advances in laboratory medicine, while providing exceptional service to meet the needs and expectations of the people we serve. Staffed by 17 board-certified pathologists and 230 laboratory professionals and equipped with the latest technology, our labs perform more than 5 million tests per year. We are proud to partner with Mayo Medical Laboratories to provide a wide range of specialized testing.
Certificate in Medical Laboratory Science
After successful completion of all clinical and lecture requirements at the School of Medical Laboratory Science, each student receives a Certificate in Medical Laboratory Science. A completed transcript (32 credits) will be mailed to the student's affiliated college and the student is eligible to take the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification Exam.
