Morristown Medical Center offers a specialized program to help train health care professionals to improve the quality of life for both their patients and families by teaching techniques to help relieve pain and stress due to a serious illness. We offer our Palliative Care Training Program to fill this growing health care need. For professionals who are interesting in this program, print and fill out our Observation Agreement before proceeding. This program is recommended for physicians, nurses, physicians’ assistants, patient advocates, social workers, chaplains, nurse practitioners, integrative medicine practitioners and financial/administrative personnel.
Our Training Location
The palliative care department at Morristown Medical Center sees between 600 to 700 new consults per year and plays a critical teaching role in our hospital and our community. Our board-certified physicians and support team have expertise in program building, symptom management, goals of care discussions, and use of advance care planning documents such as Physician’s Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment (POLST).
