Steven Papish, MD
Steven Papish, MD, FACP, is medical director of the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center, director of clinical oncology research, chairman of the Cancer Committee and an attending physician in the Department of Medicine at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, New Jersey. In addition, he is assistant clinical professor of medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City.
Dr. Papish earned his BA cum laude and his MD at the University of Pennsylvania and University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. After graduating, he completed his internship and residency at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, where he was designated chief resident. His fellowships in hematology and oncology were completed at Tufts-New England Medical Center and Dana Farber Cancer Institute under the auspices of Harvard University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Papish is the author or coauthor of articles and abstracts on Hodgkin's disease, breast cancer, lymphoma and pancreatic cancer, which are published in scientific journals such as Blood, Journal of Clinical Oncology and Journal of Clinical Immunoassay. He is a fellow in the American College of Physicians and Academy of Medicine of New Jersey and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, Morris County Medical Society and Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
Dr. Papish is a recipient of several honors and awards, including the Morristown Medical Outstanding Senior Teaching Attending Award. Castle Connelly lists him in Best Doctors in America and Top Doctors in the New York Metropolitan Area, New Jersey Monthly named him one of the best physicians in the state, and New Jersey Life lists him among top physicians for women.
He notes, “The field of hematology/oncology will ultimately yield great advances in understanding the cause of malignancy and developing treatments to prolong survival and possibly cure many common cancers.”
