March 21, 2016, Pompton Plains, NJ – Chilton Medical Center was ranked by physicians as the top mid-sized hospital in the state among those with 350 beds or fewer by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., one of the nation’s most respected health care research and information companies.
Chilton Medical Center, part of Atlantic Health System, was also highly ranked in the following categories: treatment of congestive heart failure; stroke; hip and knee repair; high-risk pregnancy; prostate cancer; neurological disorders and pain management.

These rankings are published in Inside Jersey magazine’s April 2016 issue. More than 2,200 licensed physicians in New Jersey participated in the online survey by Castle Connolly, which was distributed in fall 2015. Physicians cast nearly 36,000 votes on the treatment of specific medical conditions and top overall hospitals in the state. The results were divided into two categories: hospitals with more than 350 beds and those with 350 beds or fewer.
Chilton Medical Center’s sister hospital made the top mid-sized hospital list coming in at No. 2. also made the top hospital lists. Newton Medical Center was ranked No. 2 mid-sized hospital, while Morristown Medical Center ranked No. 2 and Overlook Medical Center ranked No. 6 in the large New Jersey hospital category.
