Susan T. Kaye, MD, FAAFP, is medical director and designated institutional official in the Division of Academic Affairs for Atlantic Health System and chair for the Department of Family Medicine at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey. She is also an attending physician at Overlook Medical. Dr. Kaye is an associate dean for Atlantic Health System at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, as well as an associate professor of medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Kaye earned her ScB in biology with honors at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. After completing her MD at New York University School of Medicine in New York City, she completed her residency in family medicine at Overlook Medical, where she was designated chief resident. Her fellowship in faculty development was completed at the Family Practice Faculty Development Center of Texas in Waco.
Dedicated to promoting volunteerism among medical professionals, Dr. Kaye directs the Benjamin H. Josephson, MD, Fund, which provides financial support for medical volunteers who care for patients in underserved communities, both in the United States and around the world. She is a board member of Shoulder to Shoulder, Inc., a nongovernmental international health organization that provides medical, dental and nutritional services to patients in developing countries.
Dr. Kaye has been a frequent speaker in her areas of academic interest, including primary care and global health, women's health, patient-focused education and adolescent health. She is chair of Atlantic Health System's Graduate Medical Education Committee. As a member of the Dean's Committee, Graduate Medical Education Committee and Medical Student Education Consortium Forum of Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Dr. Kaye has been integral in developing the academic partnership between Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Atlantic Health System. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a member of the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians, among others. She is listed in
