Morristown, NJ, October 2012 – A team of senior teachers from the Himalayan Institute will offer perspectives and advice on how to embrace the aging process and age vibrantly at Morristown Medical Center on Saturday, October 27, 2012.
A leader in the field of yoga, meditation, spirituality and holistic health, the Himalayan Institute is a nonprofit, international organization dedicated to serving humanity through educational, spiritual and humanitarian programs.
At “Vibrant Aging: Making the Most of Life,” teachers from the institute will provide practical tips and techniques for maximizing opportunities and minimizing challenges that people face at later stages in life. The event will also showcase services offered by the Atlantic Integrative Medicine program, such as health assessments, exercise and nutrition plans and yoga, which can help older individuals to achieve those goals.
“This event is all about shifting the perception that aging is a process of decline,” said Nancy Ann Cotter, MD, medical director for Atlantic Integrative Medicine at Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center. “We are excited to have teachers from the Himalayan Institute show how we can inhabit our older years healthfully, comfortably and in a way that contributes to the world around us.”
