At Morristown Memorial’s Maternity Center you’ll deliver your baby in a supportive, family-oriented environment, staffed by caring professionals who provide the very best in medical care, plus the extra pampering new mothers deserve. Our board-certified anesthesiologists, obstetricians, neonatologists, maternal-fetal specialists, and nurse practitioners, trained in the newest diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, are on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

No wonder that more births go smoothly and more babies are born healthy at our hospitals.

Our new Mother/Baby Unit, in the Arlene and Kermit Meade Pavilion, features 36 private rooms, bringing the total number of private patient rooms in the Maternity Center to 54.  Every room enables babies to stay with their mothers at all times, if desired, and features a spa-like bath, built-in space for partners to room in, computer ports and wireless Internet access.  The Center’s 34,000 square foot postpartum unit also incorporates a sibling play area and a solarium for family gatherings, reflecting the hospital’s family-centered focus.

In addition, the Maternity Center also offers:

• Level III Regional Perinatal Center, for highest risk mothers and babies

• Massage/Meditation room, where complimentary services are offered
• Support doula services
• Education rooms
• Birthing tubs for water births

At Morristown Memorial, we offer expectant parents tremendous flexibility in choosing how your baby will be delivered because we can accommodate a wide variety of medically responsible birthing plans and procedures, including the use of hydrotherapy, birthing balls, epidurals, doula support, aromatherapy and music. 

If complications should occur during labor or delivery, each room is equipped for emergency situations and our highly qualified staff is trained to respond.  Women with high-risk pregnancies are referred to Atlantic Health’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine Center for evaluation and treatment. Morristown Memorial is a Level III Regional Perinatal Center and Overlook Hospital is a Level III Intensive Perinatal Center.  All beds are equipped with the most sophisticated technology available, including individual fetal monitors with a central monitoring station. Our hospitals also have Neonatal Intensive Care Units to provide advanced care to our smallest patients.
