Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute’s Cardiac Rhythm Management Program at Morristown Medical Center cares for patients who have had or may be at risk for heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias), including those who have been resuscitated from cardiac arrest, have irregular, premature, or rapid heartbeats, or experience unexplained fainting episodes. Our patients also include individuals who may be at risk of dying suddenly from cardiac arrest, are in need of a pacemaker or automatic defibrillator, or have potential genetic links to heart rhythm problems.
The cardiac rhythm management team performs comprehensive electrophysiology studies, radiofrequency ablations for supraventricular and ventricular tachycardias, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and tilt table testing. Psychological care is just as important as physical care and our doctors carefully consider what’s best for each patient's individual needs when they develop a treatment plan.
