Education and Support Groups
Cardiac rehabilitation specialists at Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute make patient education a priority. Every patient is taught how to understand how heart disease develops and progresses to minimize risk of future heart disease, as well as the role medication can play in good heart health. Our patient education sessions are offered in individual and group settings, to allow input from each patient and his or her medical support team.
We also sponsor cardiac support groups to encourage information sharing and build emotional support among our cardiac patients and their families. Many patients enjoy meeting other people in similar situations and appreciate feeling as though they are not alone in their efforts to get and stay healthy.
