Electronic Records
Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute uses electronic medical records (EMR), a computerized practice management system that provides real-time data access and evaluation in medical care. Together with clinical workstations and clinical data repository technologies, the EMR provides the mechanism for data storage and access. The EMR aids clinicians’ decision-making by providing access to patient health record information where and when they need it and by incorporating evidence-based decision support. By using EMR, we facilitate improved medical outcomes and studies, more efficient care and speedier communication among our health care providers.
