Community Programs
The Child Life Program at Goryeb Children’s Hospital at Morristown Medical Center and Goryeb Children’s Center at Overlook Medical Center provides several programs for the community designed to help familiarize children, parents and teachers with the hospital experience:
Offered throughout the school year at both Morristown and Overlook medical centers, these programs provide an age appropriate experience for first grade students to learn more about the health care environment, alleviating the stress and anxiety that is sometimes associated with coming to the hospital.
This program, offered at Overlook Medical, helps familiarize young children with hospital settings and procedures that they would experience if they were patients. Children bring stuffed toys to a series of medical stations where their dolls receive mock x-rays, respiratory treatments, heart check-ups, bandaging and temperature checks.
