At Goryeb Children’s Hospital at Morristown and Overlook Medical Centers, the Family Advisory Council promotes patient- and family-centered care by providing resources and guidance to both hospital staff and family members.
The Council aims to forge a comprehensive and compassionate partnership among patients, families and health care professionals through communication and collaboration, ensuring that families always have a voice in their child’s care.
Family advisors are parents of children who have received or are receiving pediatric care at Goryeb Children’s Hospital and Goryeb Children’s Center. Through their personal narratives, family advisors illustrate how health care professionals can fulfill our patient- and family-centered care mission, values and philosophy. They help health care professionals understand what families most want and need from caregivers in order to collaborate and communicate effectively with them throughout all stages of a child’s care.
