When a baby dies, family and friends can help support and comfort you, but you may need professional help to manage your pain. Our Bereavement Program for Pregnancy and Infant Loss is staffed by medical professionals with perinatal bereavement counseling training.
Atlantic Health System also offers a free Parent Support Group for parents who have experienced similar pain and who can help one another adjust to life without their expected child. A trained perinatal bereavement counselor facilitates the support group.
The support group meetings are a self-help tool, not a therapy group. Parents are welcome to come as often as needed and are free to end their participation whenever they are ready. Support group meetings are at 7:30pm on the third Wednesday of each month.
