At Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute, there is a true community built on mercy and compassion for people who suddenly have lost function or independence…From the doctors and physical therapists and nurses, to the aides and food service people, they made each patient feel welcomed and special. They listened. They worked with us and for us…When I left there after three weeks, I cried like a kid leaving camp.

The Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute offers patient care to adults who need intensive multidisciplinary therapy. Therapeutic treatment is provided for three hours daily.
Our program is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, and has been accredited for more than 20 years by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an internationally recognized organization which accredits rehabilitation programs based upon stringent standards of patient care. In addition, Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute was one of the first facilities in NJ to have its stroke specialty program certified by CARF for consistently demonstrating success in reducing complications, preventing recurrence and maximizing the quality of life of our stroke patients.
Our 38-bed comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation unit features an interdisciplinary team of physiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, internists, rehabilitation nurses, physical and occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, a psychologist, a neuropsychologist, a recreational therapist, a vocational rehabilitation counselor, a dietitian, an audiologist and a care manager. The goal of our individualized evaluation and treatment services is to return our patients to the most productive life possible and can begin on the same day of admission.
