Community Education
The Community Health Departments at Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center are devoted to improving the lives of people who live in our communities. Registered nurses and bi-lingual health educators organize respiratory screenings and educational lectures in local venues, bringing important health information to people close to home. We offer lectures from the Atlantic Health System Pulmonary Center experts on topics including adult and pediatric sleep disorders, sleep apnea, allergies, respiratory complications and pulmonary diseases.
Our community health departments also offer smoking cessation classes and provide referrals to appropriate physicians when screenings indicate that follow-up consultations are required.

Smoking Cessation: Corporate Health
Atlantic Corporate Health's tobacco dependence treatment program delivers highly individualized treatment for corporation-based employees along with group support to quit smoking. Our program includes:
- Oversight by a physician
- Individual assessments with a customized treatment plan, including medication, education, social support and behavioral therapy
- Six weekly support groups facilitated by a certified tobacco treatment specialist
- Weekly carbon monoxide monitoring and data collection
- Three relapse prevention and follow-up meetings
- Free and personalized
