Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation
Atlantic Sports Health’s physical therapy and rehabilitation offers a dynamic, high-energy atmosphere with state-of-the-art equipment where our patients receive individual attention as they progress through physical therapy. Our program works with athletes at all levels – students, amateurs and those training for competitive programs, such as triathletes. Our ultimate goal is to help you return to your prior level of function and activity.
Atlantic Sports Health works closely with our patients and their doctors to create a rehabilitation treatment plan for many injuries, including:
- Arthritis and other chronic pain issues
- Exercise-related or sports injuries
- Post-surgical rehabilitation, including joint replacement surgery
- Reconditioning after illness
- Spine, shoulder, elbow, ankle, foot, hip, and knee ailments
Our board-certified medical team offers a wide variety of rehabilitation techniques, such as:
- Active release technique
- Hands-on manual therapies
- McKenzie method treatment for spine and extremities
- Pilates core strengthening
- Sports-specific strengthening programs
- Rolfing® or structural integration
- Taping techniques, such as Kinesio Taping® and McConnell taping
- Yoga-based stretches
Additional services include assessment of sports-specific movements, including the Titleist golf swing analysis, posture and walking analysis; and instruction in a home exercise program designed to maintain improvements made during physical therapy.
