Urogynecologic Robotic Surgery
Atlantic Health System’s Division of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center offers robotic surgery for the treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, including cystocele, rectocele, uterine prolapse and vaginal vault prolapse.
Using the da Vinci® Surgical System, our surgeons perform sacrocolpopexy – a gold standard for surgically correcting uterine and vaginal vault prolapse – where mesh is used to hold the vagina in the correct anatomical position and provide long-term support. We are recognized as the most experienced program in the nation performing this procedure.
Potential benefits of robotic sacrocolpopexy include:

- Shorter hospital stay

- Quicker return to normal activities
In addition, since 2006 Morristown Medical has served as a training center for hundreds of urogynecologists and urologists from around the country to learn robotic sacrocolpopexy. Our program’s director speaks nationally and internationally at scientific conferences about this procedure and teaches a course on the subject sponsored by the manufacturer.
