Uses relaxing touch techniques to apply pressure to specific points on the feet, hands and ears. These reflexology points correspond to the organs and glands of the body. Reflexology promotes self-healing and has a wide range of health benefits including: the reduction of shoulder, neck and back pain; relief of allergic reactions; headaches; digestive disorders; premenstrual symptoms; and infertility. It is especially useful for people who are not comfortable with full body massage or have limited ability being positioned for massage to other body parts.
During a typical 30 to 60 minute session, the foot is massaged using the thumbs and forefingers with special attention to specific areas of concern. Since reflexology promotes detoxification in the body, plenty of water is recommended after the session. In pregnant women, organ points representing reproductive organs are not stimulated. No pressure is given over infected skin or open lesions on the feet.
