Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus Center (NPH)
Treatments offered for NPH include minimally invasive surgery, where a neurosurgeon places a permanent shunt in the brain to drain the excess fluid, which allows the ventricles in the brain to return to their normal size. The speed of drainage can be adjusted for each person. Patients with typical NPH symptoms respond best to surgical intervention, and some recover completely. Shunting should be done as soon as NPH is diagnosed for optimal results. Our center also offers follow up care and shunt adjustments.
