The first steps in any cancer prevention program are regular screenings and education. That’s why Newton Medical Center offers mammograms to eligible members of the community and teaches the importance of early detection:
- Mammograms Save Lives
Funded through Newton Medical Center Foundation, women who do not have health insurance and do not qualify for the New Jersey Cancer Education & Early Detection (NJCEED) or Pennsylvania Healthy Women programs can receive a free mammogram. To find out if you qualify or for more information, please call 973-579-8622.
- Education Programs
Newton Medical Center’s Community Health Department works collaboratively with community partners to provide health education on prevention and early detection of cancers, including those of the breast, colon, lung, prostate, skin and mouth.
- Look Good, Feel Better
Women will learn how to maintain their appearance during cancer treatments. This group is held every other month at Sparta Health & Wellness Center, located at 89 Sparta Avenue in Sparta, NJ. For more information and to register, please call 1-800-227-2345.
When other cancer support services are necessary, Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center can seamlessly provide care for our patients.
