At the Charles L. Tice Heart Center for Diagnostic Services, Holter monitors are used by Newton Medical Center cardiologists to diagnose heart arrhythmias. The Holter monitor is connected to the patient for 24 hours, recording the patient’s heart rhythm to detect arrhythmias that are intermittent and difficult to isolate. The recording is analyzed for any arrhythmias that may have occurred during the 24-hour period. This information helps the physician determine the proper treatment regimen for the patient.
If additional cardiac services are necessary, patients have full access to Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute at Morristown Medical Center or Overlook Medical Center.
