Clinical Pastoral Education
Theological students, lay people and clergy of all faiths (pastors, priests, ministers, rabbis and imams) can undertake Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ.
A regional leader in CPE training for forty years, the Overlook Medical Clinical Pastoral Education Program is accredited by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education. Our interfaith, graduate-level professional educational program prepares participants to provide support to patients and their families in a hospital setting. More than 450 students have completed our Level I, Level II and Supervisory CPE training.
We offer three types of programming:
- A 32-week Extended Unit from September through May
- Two Modified 16-week Units, one in the fall and one in the spring
- An 11-week Summer Intensive Unit
Tuition is $500 for each CPE program, and some scholarship aid is available.
