When hospitalization is not necessary or no longer required, but outpatient services are too limited, Partial-Care or Intensive Outpatient programs may be appropriate.
These programs allow patients to return home each day after treatment, and begin transitioning to everyday living situations and challenges. These structured programs (available at all sites), provide adults with short-term treatment that is tailored to their level of functioning. Patients in Partial-Care receive a full day of treatment, while Intensive Outpatient Programs offer a half day of treatment.
Services for both programs are similar to those used for Inpatient Hospitalization. The only difference is that these outpatient services are provided during a three to six-hour period, three to five days a week.
