At Atlantic Hospice, we believe that the last days of life should be dignified, comfortable and peaceful. As one of the first hospices in the United States, we have served residents of Morris, Union, Essex and Somerset counties for more than 35 years, helping to enhance patients' quality of life and support their family members and caregivers in private homes, assisted living facilities and nursing homes.
Our hospice team includes medical directors who can collaborate with your physician or assume responsibility for your care. Hospice and palliative care certified nurses, social workers, home health aides, spiritual counselors and volunteers focus on your comfort and individual needs. Bereavement professionals work with family and friends for a year through support groups and individual counseling.
When you and your primary physician determine that aggressive curative treatment is no longer appropriate or desired, you or your loved one may be referred to Atlantic Hospice. Atlantic Hospice nurse liaisons are available onsite at Morristown and Overlook medical centers, as well as area health care facilities, to answer questions and facilitate your transition to hospice care. We can also assist people in out-of-area hospitals in arranging hospice services.
Hospice care is covered under Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance providers. No one is denied hospice care due to inability to pay. Donations to our hospice fund go directly to patient care.
