Infant Security
At Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center, our number one goal is keeping you and your baby safe and healthy. While you are in the hospital, please be sure that:
- You and your baby wear identification bands at all times.
- You ask every staff member assisting you to show you his or her hospital photo ID card. Do not give your baby to anyone who is not properly identified.
- You are informed of all tests your baby has, including what they are for, which doctors ordered them, and how long they will take.
When you go home, consider that there are risks involved in announcing the birth of your baby in the newspaper or using outdoor decorations and balloons in your front yard. The hospital will not notify newspapers about your baby's birth. Allow only those people you know and trust into your home.
