Athletic Training
Overlook Medical Center's Rehabilitation Services Department believes in integrated treatment, which is why our approach to rehabilitation includes athletic training services. Following care from a physician or rehabilitation after injury, our athletic trainers help patients quickly return to physical activity as safely as possible.
In addition, Overlook Medical's athletic trainers:
- Care for on-field injuries during games or events
- Collaborate with physicians on concussion management
- Help athletes prevent further injuries
- Tape or brace parts of the body to support weaknesses or protect mild injuries
Athletic trainers are also a part of our multidisciplinary youth sports medical team, collaborating with sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, sports nutritionists, performance experts and many others who treat young athletes.
