

Overlook Medical Center’s Occupational Therapy Department provides a complete range of services, including stroke rehabilitation, hand therapy, and post-mastectomy and post-breast reconstruction therapy. Our expert team of occupational therapists partner with the patient, physician and other medical experts involved in the care process.
We are happy to accommodate same-day appointments for surgical patients and can also provide same-day surgery splinting services.
Our occupational therapy department, in conjunction with Atlantic Neuroscience Institute, provides a range of inpatient and outpatient stroke rehabilitation services, skillfully managing the patient’s transition through levels of care.
We understand that stroke rehabilitation is a 24/7 process and will work closely with your medical team and your family to help you maximize your progress even when you aren’t actually in therapy. Visual and cognitive therapies are highly-specialized components of our stroke services, and our therapists will work with you to customize an individual treatment plan that meets your goals.
We provide comprehensive rehabilitation services for a wide range of conditions and traumatic injuries affecting the hand. Our team of certified hand therapists consistently achieves successful outcomes by working closely with our surgeons and keeping him or her informed about each patient's rehabilitation process.
We treat both acute and chronic hand injuries using a comprehensive approach that extends from your initial evaluation to your rehabilitation at home. What’s more, we recognize that initiating therapy as soon as possible after your surgery is a key component to optimizing outcomes. That’s why we provide same day appointments for both surgical patients and walk-in patients referred by a surgeon.

Your comfort is our priority. Post-mastectomy and post-breast reconstruction patients are treated in a private area of our facility two to three times a week, for a total of 10 to 12 half-hour sessions. We maintain constant contact with your physician to follow your established treatment plan.
