Research has shown that there is often a strong relationship between thought process and the ability to cope with physical health problems. At Atlantic Behavioral Health, we believe that behavioral medicine can help patients more effectively manage their chronic illness and improve overall well-being.
Our Division of Behavioral Medicine outpatient program begins with an initial assessment with a clinician to determine patient goals and create a care plan, which may include improving coping skills and stress management.
Afterwards, patients may partake in either group or individual treatment sessions and if necessary, consult with a psychiatrist. A therapist is available to help determine which strategy will be most effective.
Division of Behavioral Medicine services are available at Morristown Medical Center's outpatient services at Atlantic Rehabilitation, outpatient services at Overlook Medical Center and Newton Medical Center.
