Volunteering
Volunteers at Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown and Overlook Medical Center are a unique group of specially- trained individuals who devote their time, skills and compassion to support and comfort cancer patients throughout all stages of their care.
They provide a wide range of support services acting as:
- Resource navigators
- Welcome ambassadors
- Mind, body and spirit practitioners
- Caring Hands, or volunteers or who provide comfort to patients during cancer treatments
Our volunteers also distribute items from our "comfort cart” – a collection of hand-made hats, caps and shawls to help those coping with the side effects of cancer treatments. Those with special skills further assist our patients through piano playing, insurance counseling, computer assistance, knitting, beading and crafts.
