The Brain Tumor Center of New Jersey, part of Atlantic Neuroscience Institute and Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Overlook Medical Center, provides state-of-the-art surgical and medical care for patients with a variety of benign and malignant brain tumors and neurological complications due to cancer. Our multi-disciplinary team of specialists includes neurosurgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, neuroradiologists, neuro-pathologists, a nurse navigator and nurse specialists. Our brain tumor center uses the safest and most efficient brain tumor treatments available to decrease pain and risk, and hasten recovery. For more difficult cases, patients may be advised to enroll in clinical trials for new brain cancer treatments that involve chemotherapy and other medications that stop tumor growth.
The Brain Tumor Center of New Jersey’s treatment services include:
- CyberKnife (stereotactic radiosurgery) – delivers a highly concentrated dose of radiation precisely to the selected brain tumor to shrink the tissue or stop its growth, optimizing treatment safety, reducing operation time and decreasing the length of hospitalization and recovery. The procedure is non-invasive, highly accurate and painless.
- Image guided neurosurgery – uses the guidance of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computed tomography (CT) scans to assist surgeons in treating brain tumors. Learn more about neurosurgery >
- Clinical trials – offer new treatments for eligible patients with malignant brain tumors. Currently, we are participating in clinical trials for patients diagnosed with glioblastoma, malignant astrocytoma, recurrent malignant astrocytoma and mixed tumors.
