Expert care and comprehensive services are available at Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute at Morristown Memorial Hospital and Overlook Hospital, and patients can easily be referred from one hospital to another. In fact, our hospitals are the only two facilities in New Jersey to receive the American College of Cardiology Foundation and American Heart Association’s ACTION Registry®-GWTG™ 2009 Gold Performance Achievement Award for improvement in the treatment of heart attack patients.

At Morristown Memorial Hospital:

• Our heart surgery survival outcome rates rival the state benchmark.
• More heart surgery is performed here than at any other New Jersey hospital.

• We run an innovative cardiac classroom in cooperation with the Liberty Science Center where students can view live heart surgery via satellite.

At Overlook Hospital:

• We are the first hospital in New Jersey granted permission by NJ Department of Health to perform emergency angioplasty, without on-site cardiac surgery, as part of a clinical trial.
• Our emergency care for heart attack patients is ranked highly by the NJ Department of Health.
• Our echocardiography laboratory is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL).
