The Junior Board is comprised of nine local high school students from Pequannock High School and Wayne Hills High School. While we had planned in-person events this Spring to raise money towards the "Soothing Paws Pet Therapy" program, we had to switch gears and get creative. We are selling one-of-a-kind calendars highlighting Chilton's very own therapy pets! All proceeds will go towards our goal to expand the program. Thank you in advance for helping us to reach our goal! Each calendar is $10 and will be shipped directly to the address provided in the payment section.
Student representatives from local high schools who have indicated an interest in becoming a part of the Junior Board at the Chilton Medical Center Foundation are identified for participation in the program by their respective Guidance Departments. Applicants focused on furthering their education in business-related studies are especially attracted to this opportunity.
Monthly board meetings are conducted throughout the school year, with the goal of teaching students how a foundation board operates and getting them involved in the process. The Junior Board members hear presentations from various departments in need of funding and decide as a group which department will be the recipient of their fundraising efforts.
Set for a full-year roll out next fall, the Junior Board Program will further expose local teens to the Foundation, and how it functions as the fundraising arm of a nonprofit medical center. Board meetings provide students with the opportunity to better appreciate and understand the importance of philanthropy in meeting the needs of Chilton’s patients and their families.
The 2019 Junior Board Fundraising Choice is…
The Junior Board has decided that their funding choice for the 2019 will be towards the Soothing Paws Pet Therapy program. The students will be running various events at their schools, so please check back to see how you can get involved and support this wonderful cause!
