The Foundation for Hackettstown Medical Center’s inaugural Colors for Cancer Fun Run/Walk, was a success, raising nearly $27,000 for the hospital’s Joan Knechel Cancer Center. Previously known as the Joan Knechel Memorial Walk, the event featured a new twist for 2018 – participants were gently showered with non-toxic, biodegradable, cornstarch-based colored powder as they pass sponsored color stations along the course. By the time everyone was done, they were a walking rainbow of colors!
The revamped theme attracted many new faces and donors. More than 200 runners, walkers and volunteers turned out for the event on September 29 at Riverfront Park in Hackettstown to raise funds for high quality cancer care close to home, while celebrating life in full color.
