COVID-19 Testing

September 2, 2020

Your first resource is your primary care doctor, who knows you best.

Please contact your doctor if you have symptoms that would usually result in your making an appointment, including fever, cough and shortness of breath. If you don’t have a primary care physician, you can find a doctor in your area or schedule a virtual visit.

Symptomatic testing is available for those with prescriptions from most physicians on medical staff at an Atlantic Health System hospital. Please call your primary care provider for more information. The test utilizes a mid-turbinate nasal swab, which is inserted less than one inch into the nostril. Results from these tests can be accessed through the MyChart Patient Portal and are typically available within two to three days. Please contact your doctor if you have questions about your test or test results.

Community-based testing is also available at several locations across the state. Please read carefully for prescription, appointment or residency requirements as policies vary by site. See locations on New Jersey's COVID-19 Information Hub >
