Benefits of Medical Grade Microdermabrasion

Fine lines. Wrinkles. Stretch marks. They’re all signs of aging. But you don’t have to live with them. Atlantic Health System’s Chambers Center for Well-Being offers medical-grade microdermabrasion treatments that remove blemishes and rejuvenate the skin.

While some microdermabrasion machines use aluminum oxide crystals that are toxic to the skin, the Dermaglide® system at the Chambers Center for Well-Being uses specially formulated baking soda crystals. “Baking soda is a natural, non-toxic sanitizer that’s been used by skin-care professionals for centuries,” says aesthetician Pamela Dunn.

During the treatment, a fine spray of crystals are propelled at a high rate of speed across the skin’s surface, removing dead skin cells and opening clogged pores. The treatments, safe for all skin types, are available in 45-minute “express” sessions or a full 60-minute session. Often, people will need between three to six treatments to get the best results. “Ideally, treatments should be scheduled one month apart,” Dunn says.
