Eva Goldenberg, Esq., CHC, CHPC and her team are responsible for Atlantic Health System’s corporate compliance program, the HIPAA privacy program, research compliance and the organization’s annual internal audit work plan. She also serves as compliance officer for the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization and Healthcare Quality Partners. As described in a 2017 issue of American Health Leaders, Eva supports compliance through an open line of communication, training and education, and day-to-day answers to team members’ compliance questions.
When it comes to compliance training, Eva prefers a fun approach. Her team regularly publishes the “Captain Integrity” comic strip with tidbits of advice and helps Atlantic Health System celebrate the annual national compliance and ethics week. The 2017 celebration was featured in an article Eva published in the Health Care Compliance Association’s Compliance Today magazine.
Eva’s career in health care began at Newton Medical Center, where she spent approximately four years as Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Legal Officer. Prior to that, she held various roles as an attorney and human resources executive at Russ Berrie and Company, Inc., a publicly-traded global gift and toy designer, manufacturer and wholesaler. She also practiced law at Kelley Drye and Warren in New York City and at Riker Danzig in Morristown, NJ.
Eva received her B.A. from The University of Chicago and her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University. She is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York and is certified in health care compliance and health care privacy compliance. Eva is a member of the Health Care Compliance Association, Healthcare Financial Management Association, Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors, Association of Corporate Counsel, NJ Corporate Counsel Association, American Bar Association, NJ Bar Association, and NY Bar Association. She spent more than a decade on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern NJ and is a board member of the Center for Molecular Medicine and Immunology Foundation and the Morris County chapter of Hadassah.
