Vice President, Atlantic Health System and President, Hackettstown and Newton Medical Centers
Joe DiPaolo is president of Atlantic Health System's western region, which includes Newton Medical Center in Sussex County, NJ and Hackettstown Medical Center in Warren County, NJ. He oversees all acute care and ambulatory operations for these hospitals and ensures the highest commitment to quality, safety, patient and guest satisfaction, and financial integrity.
As corporate vice president, Joe has shared service department responsibilities across Atlantic Health System, including all their acute care hospitals, and works to broaden the organization’s exposure to community and corporate partners. Previously, he was responsible for supply chain, laboratory, pharmacy, security, emergency management and several other areas, including Atlantic Ambulance and the orthopedic service line.
In his 30 years’ experience in health care, Joe has held leadership roles in non-profit and for-profit companies and has never failed to advance profitability, grow markets, improve quality and increase satisfaction. His career began in information systems as a computer programmer and systems analyst with McDonnell Douglas. He later spent nine years working in the hospital supply divisions of Baxter, Allegiance and Cardinal Health – international manufacturers and distributors of medical, surgical, laboratory and pharmaceutical products.
Joe holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees from George Washington and Fordham Universities, and is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He also serves on several boards and committees.
