Wait times represent the average estimated length of time from registration to being assigned a "first provider" (a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Times displayed for Atlantic Health Systems are:

  • Reported as an average of wait times for the previous 2 hours of patients that have presented to the emergency department and have been seen by a provider
  • Refreshed at least every 15 minutes

Many circumstances can affect wait times - for example, patients arriving by ambulance or with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Patients with severe conditions will be seen before those with less-serious problems or ailments. These times are provided for informational purposes only and cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.

At Chilton Medical Center we understand that kids aren’t just little people, which is why have a Pediatric Emergency Department exclusively dedicated to the needs of children ages newborn to 17. We’re fully equipped to handle all kinds of childhood emergencies from sports injuries and appendicitis to asthma attacks and high fevers.

Features of our 24/7 Pediatric Emergency Department

All children are seen by certified emergency pediatricians and nurses extensively trained in pediatric care and certified in pediatric advanced life support. In addition, our patient rooms are child-friendly and adorned with under-the-sea murals and cartoon canines to help ease fears.

When specialized services are needed, Goryeb Children’s Hospital can seamlessly provide care for our pediatric patients.
