Wait times represent the average estimated length of time from registration to being assigned a "first provider" (a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Times displayed for Atlantic Health Systems are:

  • Reported as an average of wait times for the previous 2 hours of patients that have presented to the emergency department and have been seen by a provider
  • Refreshed at least every 15 minutes

Many circumstances can affect wait times - for example, patients arriving by ambulance or with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Patients with severe conditions will be seen before those with less-serious problems or ailments. These times are provided for informational purposes only and cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.

Brain Aneurysm Treatment Options

Treatment for brain aneurysms depends upon the size of the aneurysm and whether or not it has ruptured. Those patients with aneurysms that have already broken open are medical emergencies and usually require surgery – either via open neurosurgery or a procedure from inside the artery.

At Atlantic Neuroscience Institute’s Brain Aneurysm Center, located at Overlook Medical Center, we offer several surgical options for the treatment of brain aneurysms, including:

  • Endovascular embolization or coiling of brain aneurysm
  • Microvascular clipping
  • Endovascular embolization of brain arteriovenous malformation (AVM)
  • Flow diversion of aneurysm using the Pipeline™ Device
  • Surgical artery occlusion and/or bypass

Atlantic Neuroscience Institute also offers clinical trials to evaluate novel coils and other materials to treat brain aneurysms that cannot be addressed with traditional surgical approaches. Learn more about our research studies >
