Wait times represent the average estimated length of time from registration to being assigned a "first provider" (a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Times displayed for Atlantic Health Systems are:

  • Reported as an average of wait times for the previous 2 hours of patients that have presented to the emergency department and have been seen by a provider
  • Refreshed at least every 15 minutes

Many circumstances can affect wait times - for example, patients arriving by ambulance or with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Patients with severe conditions will be seen before those with less-serious problems or ailments. These times are provided for informational purposes only and cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.

Athletic Training

Athletic trainers specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of muscle and bone injuries or illnesses. They are often the first health care responders at sporting events and provide immediate care to athletes when needed.

At Atlantic Rehabilitation, we provide a variety of athletic training services, including:

  • Pre-game services, such as stretching, taping and bracing
  • Coverage at local sporting events and school programs
  • Education for coaches, players and parents on injury prevention and management
  • Nutritional counseling with a dietician certified in sports nutrition
  • Protective padding
  • Sport-specific rehabilitation training
  • Collaboration with physicians on concussion management

When injuries do occur, our team will work with school and team staff to establish safe return-to-play guidelines.
