Wait times represent the average estimated length of time from registration to being assigned a "first provider" (a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Times displayed for Atlantic Health Systems are:

  • Reported as an average of wait times for the previous 2 hours of patients that have presented to the emergency department and have been seen by a provider
  • Refreshed at least every 15 minutes

Many circumstances can affect wait times - for example, patients arriving by ambulance or with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Patients with severe conditions will be seen before those with less-serious problems or ailments. These times are provided for informational purposes only and cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.

Physiatry

Physiatrists, or rehabilitation physicians, specialize in treating injuries or illnesses that affect functional abilities. This may include athletic injuries, neurological disorders, strokes and concussions, as well as impairments to the brain, spinal cord, nerves, muscles, tendons and ligaments.

At Atlantic Rehabilitation, our physiatry specialists:

  • Diagnose and treat pain
  • Help restore functionality
  • Provide non-surgical treatments
  • Prescribe medications
  • Educate on prevention and wellness

We believe in treating the whole person, not just symptoms or problem areas alone. Working with other members of the rehabilitation team, our physiatrists will pinpoint the source of any ailment and formulate a plan to aggressively treat it.

We also provide medical coverage for athletic teams, schools and other events, and assist in return-to-play protocols and decision-making.
